The TRX Suspension Trainer will ignite your pursuit of power, size and functional strength. As Derrick Rose says, “All physical activity begins with the body’s core. I maintain the strength in my core so that I can jump, run, start, stop, and accelerate at the highest levels.” Yes, you need to train your core so that you can develop real strength to be able to perform well in any activity. Every movement works the core when you work out with the Suspension Trainer.
The good thing is that it can be used together with your existing training program to complement the traditional movements like the push-ups, squat, lunges as well as any other lifting that you may be doing with kettle bells, dumbbells and barbells.
Below are 2 of the most effective TRX exercises that will strengthen your muscles.
TRX squats are perfect for improving your form. With the TRX, you will be able to balance and keep your heels on the ground and the back straight. To do a TRX squat, hold the handles of the TRX and make sure they are slack and level with the belly button. Stand with legs over shoulder width apart and toes pointing slightly outwards. Go down as if you are sitting into a chair as you break at the hips before you bend the knees. Use the tension from the now tougher TRX to balance yourself. While ensuring your back is straight, lower yourself down until the thighs are parallel to the floor. When at the bottom of your squat, push up through the heels as you squeeze your glutes to come back to starting position. This will be your first rep of the TRX squats.

You must have had a rude shock when you first tried to perform suspended push-ups without having focused on stabilization before. As much as you may manage to hack multiple reps, your entire upper body will most definitely shake- a clear sign that you need to work on your stabilizers. A solid TRX workout program will relieve that shake and enable you to be more stable and stronger. To start, position the handles at knee height then lower them when you are able to perform like 20 reps without excessive shaking. You should aim to accomplish this with elevated feet.
The TRX is a perfect workout companion for people with limited equipment or little spaces. It is also excellent for someone who wants to keep their training on the go. Want To try something new? Then begin with the exercises above then improvise to get the routine that will work for you.
