Some of us are early birds, where others are night owls. How we function during the day, and the type of sleep we prefer, depends greatly on the type of work we do as well as other responsibilities. When it comes to training and gaining the most from our efforts, should you be getting up early and lacing up your trainers, or should you wait until evening to pump it out at the gym?
The answer might actually surprise you, because there are distinct advantages to both, depending on the type of exercise you are planning to do. Different studies have indicated that cardio training is most effective at burning calories when done first thing in the morning, however, when it comes to resistance training, your anaerobic capacity is higher during the evening time.
